This guide walks you through setting up Signal Android for the first time. You will download the app, register your phone number, verify your identity, and send your first message, all in just a few minutes.
1

Download Signal

Open the Google Play Store on your Android device and install Signal.
Get it on Google Play
2

Register your phone number

Open Signal for the first time and enter your phone number when prompted. Signal uses your phone number as your account identifier, which makes it easy for your contacts to find you.
3

Verify with an SMS code

Signal sends a one-time SMS verification code to your phone number. Enter the code in the app to confirm your identity and complete registration.
4

Start messaging

After setup finishes, you can find contacts already on Signal, start one-on-one conversations, and create group chats. All messages are automatically encrypted from the first tap.
