# Run Your First AI App from Awesome AI Apps

> Clone the repo, set up your environment, install dependencies with pip or uv, and run your first LLM-powered app in under five minutes.

This guide walks you through running your first project from the Awesome AI Apps collection. You will clone the repository, enter a project directory, configure your API keys, install dependencies, and run the app. Most projects are ready to run in under five minutes.

## Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have the following installed:

* **Python 3.10+** (Python 3.11+ is recommended for newer projects)
* **Git**
* **pip** or **uv** (uv is recommended for faster installs)
* API keys for the services used by your chosen project (check the individual project READMEs)

    Clone the Awesome AI Apps repository from GitHub to your local machine.

    cd awesome-ai-apps
    ```

  <Step title="Choose a project and navigate to it">
    Each project lives in its own subdirectory. Pick one to start with. For example, the Agno HackerNews starter:

    ```

    Copy the example environment file and add your API keys.

    cp .env.example .env
    ```

    Open `.env` in your editor and fill in the required keys for your project.

    You can install dependencies with either pip or uv.
